Big Bags Expected at 2023 Gamakatsu Bassmaster Elite at Lake Seminole


Bass fishing enthusiasts have something to be excited about. The Bassmaster Elite Series is in Bainbridge, Georgia, on Lake Seminole from February 23-26, bringing some of the world’s most accomplished anglers to the area. It will be a thrilling event for bass fishing hopefuls and fans alike, as they get to watch and learn from the best practitioners in the sport compete for $100 000. 


The 37-500-acre lake is split by the Florida-Georgia line and is renowned for producing trophy-sized largemouth bass.  With the right conditions in place, anglers expect big things from this event and hope for some giant bags.  Analysts expect to see four day weight totals close to ninety pounds with plenty of action and some of the biggest catches of the season.


Lake Seminole is one of the most diverse fisheries on the Elite Schedule, offering anglers a mix of deepwater, open-water stump fields, river systems, and shallow, grassy areas. There are three primary areas of concentration at Lake Seminole.  Anglers will launch out of the boat basin in Bainbridge on the Flint River, which feeds Lake Seminole from the north.  Many pros will make a longer run down the Flint to the, main lake, Chattahoochee or Spring Creek areas.


With warmer weather on the horizon and spring right around the corner. The spawn may be a factor, so expect shallow water and pre-spawn staging areas to play a part in the strategy of most of the field.    Sight fishing could play a considerable role for anglers that can find fish on beds.  


The 2023 Bassmaster Elite Series at Lake Seminole promises to be an explosive event. With some of the best pros in the world competing to make the top 10 for the final round,  spectators are in for a treat.
